Ingrid in SF!

My sister Ingrid came to visit us last week. She was on a two week hiatus from her internship at Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital in New York City. She's enjoying her time there, but is excited to move to San Francisco this summer to begin her residency at UCSF. Brandi and I can't wait for her to be here. Free babysitting!!
Ingrid was here Sunday through Thursday, so it wasn't the best timing for my work schedule. Plus I'm a total downer these days as I gave up alcohol for lent as a form of spiritual massichism. So no late night tango clubs or Tuesday trips to wine country. Sorry. We'll have to save that until summer.
In a good luck/bad luck scenario, Rex came down with the flu just before Ingrid came. He had a 104 temp and yakked all over his crib her first night. So bad luck for Ingrid that she didn't get to see Rex as his happy charming self. Good luck for us that we had a doctor in the house. More than anything, it was nice to have another voice of reassurance. "104 isn't good". "Get him to drink something". "Don't serve him tylenol in a highball glass." "That puke smells bad." She doesn't have an MD PhD for nothing, let me tell you!
We were able to get some time to scope out a few possible neighborhoods for her to move into. Cole Valley near UCSF is the early favorite, but don't rule out the possibility of Russian Hill-Nob Hill-North Beach. Much closer to family and her second job (babysitting), and still just a short Vespa ride to any of the city hospitals and/or tango clubs. What a lifestyle!
By the end of the trip Rex was feeling better so we got a few good photos. We're trying to get him to say "Inga" but he's still stuck on Babbo for the moment.

"Hi Ingrid!". Nice post Nick. I'm impressed with your ability to give up wine for lent. I'll look forward to hearing about your post-Easter binge.
